A New Look for Kilmer House

Alert Kilmer House readers will have noticed that their favorite blog about Johnson & Johnson history suddenly looks a little different.

The new look of Kilmer House incorporates elements that made some of the early Johnson & Johnson publications so unique and eye-catching, like the basket weave design used to outline some of the sections in the right-hand column of the blog, and images that have appeared in some of our early publications and advertising.  The idea behind the new look is to make Kilmer House look like it could be a Johnson & Johnson blog from 100 years ago, illustrating the thread that runs through our heritage from the Company’s founding to today.  (In the interest of full disclosure, Johnson & Johnson did not actually have blogs 100 years ago…but readers will understand the idea.)

An example of one of our early publications

Kilmer House will celebrate its fifth birthday this summer, and Johnson & Johnson is celebrating its 125th birthday this year, so what better time to look ahead by making Kilmer House look like one of our historical publications.  If Fred Kilmer, in whose honor the blog is named, or the founders of Johnson & Johnson, or our early employees were to come back and read the blog, they would no doubt be amazed at the Company’s progress, innovation and growth, but they might feel right at home with some of the elements in the new look.  I hope that Kilmer House readers will also feel at home with it.

I love the new Kilmer House look!! The Basket Weave that you refer to was protected as a trademark when I joined the company 38 years ago.

Great website Margaret. I like the classic style and color selections of the page as well as the font choice, which is so easy on the eyes. Thanks for keeping us in touch with our J&J history.
